Bjelin plays it American football at 1587 Prime

The restaurant 1587 Prime, co-founded by NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in Kansas City with the hospitality-focused agency Noble 33, is far more than a traditional steakhouse. Designed as an immersive experience, the venue combines bold design, authentic materials and performance, with walnut flooring from manufacturer Bjelin (Woodura Planks range) serving as a key element of its architectural identity. From the entrance, the scenography evokes American football with a tunnel that gradually narrows, recalling players’ entrance onto the field.

Inside, a central ground floor hosts live concerts, complemented by an intimate bar and comfortable banquette seating; the upper level includes a semi-private dining area seating over 40 guests as well as a 20-seat VIP lounge. The venue offers a total of 238 seats while maintaining a warm and intimate atmosphere. The Woodura Planks flooring structures the space, adding texture and depth, while meeting strict technical requirements: high resistance to heavy foot traffic, spills and daily wear, while ensuring long-lasting aesthetic durability. Ease of installation and cost control were also decisive factors. Close collaboration between architects and suppliers made it possible to overcome challenges related to an irregular floor plan and multiple flooring transitions, while meeting aesthetic requirements, deadlines and budget constraints.
