L'Agenceur Magazine N°75
FRENCH-STYLE EXCELLENCE
Only a few months have passed since our last issue, yet our country has revealed itself to the world three times over. Politically, of course, following the missteps and obstinacy of Emmanuel Macron that led to the longest parliamentary deadlock of the Fifth Republic; then, more recently, economically, with the uncontrolled slippage of the state deficit and a budget laboriously put together by the outgoing government. Fortunately, a third development has burnished the tricolor’s image: the Paris 2024 Olympic Games were a resounding success.
Obviously, not everything was perfect. Naturally, an event of such magnitude could not please everyone and caused inconveniences—particularly for local residents. Yet despite the initial pessimism—the “killjoys,” as Mayor Anne Hidalgo likes to say—it is clear that these Games thrilled the crowds. Exceptional venues, popular fervor, masterful organization… these Olympics were praised across the globe. France showed the world, live and in full view, what it excels at: displaying creativity.
Imagination, inventiveness, boldness… there is no shortage of superlatives for these Games. But we should not forget that these qualities also apply to other national know-how: artistic, cultural, industrial, and more. In our field, of course, architects and designers are in demand worldwide, showcasing French elegance and excellence in interior fit-out and spatial design.
And as the autumn news cycle turns particularly gloomy again, it is all the more important not to set aside that enchanting summer interlude. Let’s keep that sense of pride alive, sustain that contagious enthusiasm—not merely for a handful of symbolic medals. Have a great start to the season, everyone!
