Placo expands its Rigitone Edge range with three new patterns inspired by celestial imagery: Astra, Nebula, and Stellar. These gypsum boards (1980 x 1188 mm, 12.5 mm thickness) are designed for spaces where the ceiling becomes a graphic feature in its own right, particularly in offices, lobbies, auditoriums, or hotels. Their chamfered Edge allows for easy alignment without templates and enables a continuous surface after joint filling. Each pattern offers a distinct visual interpretation: Astra is based on regular circular perforations, creating a structured overall movement; with a perforation rate of 12%, the board achieves an αw of 0.65 without mineral wool and 0.70 with a 60 mm absorber (200 mm plenum). Nebula (photo) features a more diffuse pattern inspired by luminous halos; its 13% perforation rate delivers the same performance (αw of 0.65 without mineral wool and 0.70 with absorber). More random and punctuated, the Stellar pattern evokes a star map, with a 9% perforation rate providing absorption between 0.45 and 0.50 depending on the configuration. All three models benefit from Activ’Air technology, designed to eliminate up to 70% of formaldehyde, as well as an A+ indoor air emission rating.
