As part of the complete restructuring of its Paris centre, Apec entrusted Chloé Theresette with the transformation of its new 1,300 m² space at 55, rue d’Amsterdam. The project, named Centre de demain, stages an original approach in which the floor becomes a vehicle for identity and a narrative medium, thanks to a graphic motif inspired by the arches of Saint-Lazare station. To reconcile aesthetics and eco-responsibility, 70% of the existing carpets were reused, with only the damaged areas being replaced. The floor features a dynamic patchwork of eight Balsan references, including the Louvre blue carpet matching the Apec brand guidelines, inlaid with millimetre precision by Créa Partnear. The solution is completed by the acoustic vinyl flooring LVT Elite Looselay, elegant, sound-insulated and recyclable. Each space in the centre stands out through its identity: the reception combines colours and acoustic comfort, the circulation areas become rhythmic trajectories with coloured niches, and the Quai de Bercy meeting room incorporates the identity motif into the floor, while the Quai d’inspiration, entirely carpeted, stimulates creativity and comfort for modular workshops. With this project, Balsan illustrates how carpet and vinyl can become architectural and narrative tools, combining design, functionality and environmental commitment in a contemporary professional space.
