In Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin, this apartment built in the 1970s was recently renovated. The project, designed by N01 Architecture and carried out by the fit-out specialist Oberle, includes a reorganisation of the kitchen in order to open it up more onto the living space.

The island fronts are made in Polyrey HPL® Vert Sarcelle V108, in FA finish. The same decor is used again for the worktop in Reysipur® Compact Vert Sarcelle V108. This combination makes it possible to play on colours, textures and proportions, while giving the surfaces the qualities expected in a room subject to daily demands.
Reysipur® Compact Laminate for the worktop: a material designed for the constraints of use
The worktop occupies a special place in the kitchen. It must withstand intensive use, frequent cleaning and regular exposure to humidity. In this project, the choice fell on Polyrey’s Reysipur® Compact Laminate.
For a kitchen worktop, one of the main advantages lies in resistance to humidity. The material can be used in an environment where water is omnipresent, notably around the sink, provided that the design and installation details are appropriate. Its non-porous surface also makes everyday cleaning easier. Here, the decorative choice fell on a green combined with a black core, for its design appeal and its uniqueness; it is also possible to use HPL Compact Laminates with a core in the same shade as the surface decor, for a monobloc effect or one close to natural materials (marbles, travertines....) depending on the combinations chosen. HPL Compact Laminate also offers interesting freedom of design: working of the edges, grooving of the draining board directly into the material, undermounted sink… The possibilities are endless!
Fronts in HPL Laminate: a decorative surface suited to everyday life
Polyrey HPL® Blanc Artic B117 is used on the fronts of the kitchen block and on the cladding of the unit. For a kitchen application, HPL Laminate has above all the advantage of being resistant to the everyday stresses to which kitchen fronts are subjected. Its surface is designed to withstand rubbing, everyday knocks, stains and repeated cleaning operations: perfect for wiping away fingerprints! In addition, its surface is antibacterial, which is reassuring in places sensitive to the development of bacteria such as the kitchen. The laminate sheet bonded onto a substrate can thus be offered in a wide variety of decors and finishes, which gives real freedom in the design of the furniture.
A coherent combination for a durable kitchen
This distribution of materials according to function illustrates a pragmatic approach to fit-out. Rather than looking for a single material for the whole kitchen, each surface is chosen according to its role. The result is a space where the technical side remains discreet, serving a sober and graphic composition.
The kitchen has become the heart of the home, a living space where conviviality, design and functionality meet. In this context, the kitchen market is moving towards projects in which design can no longer be dissociated from performance. Polyrey’s strength lies in its ability to ensure continuity of decors between HPL Laminate and Compact, offering professionals great freedom of design while meeting the technical requirements of contemporary kitchens.
