2nd prize Plastor Trophies: AM BAT Granville (50) rehabilitates the parquet floor of the former Dior villa

In Granville, the transformation of Lucien Dior's former villa into a furniture and home decor boutique called Album de Famille required extensive work on the existing parquet flooring. The 300 m² floor was entirely covered in cement. "To remove the old flooring and uncover the original dark oak parquet, we had to carry out a leveling sanding over several weeks, followed by surface sanding before applying the undercoat and finish," explains Aurélien Bouchaton, president of AM BAT. Working alongside other tradespeople, the company applied a hard, bare wood-effect primer, then two coats of Pur-T3 Duo varnish with a matte finish, meeting the requirements for a surface resistant to the traffic of a retail environment and easy to maintain. The entire project took eight weeks to complete.

Founded in 2023 by Aurélien Bouchaton and his father, who have twenty-six years of experience in the trade, AM BAT specializes in sanding and varnishing parquet floors and staircases, as well as installing solid wood flooring. The company currently employs six people and works on residential, commercial, and public projects.
